The Leica CM1900 is a rapid sectioning cryostat tailored for advanced routine diagnostics in histology and clinical histopathology. It excels in fast, reliable tissue sectioning, making it a highly effective laboratory instrument

  • Enclosed, splash-proof microtome: The high‑precision microtome is fully encapsulated for contamination control and easy cleaning, without needing removal from the chamber 

  • Spacious stainless-steel cryochamber: Open-top design with separate specimen cooling and integrated drain for convenient cleaning and disinfection 

  • Spray disinfection compatibility: Compatible with disinfectants like Leica Cryofect to neutralize viruses and bacteria, even at low temperatures 

Cooling & Defrost Functionality

  • Cryochamber temperatures: Cools from 0 °C down to –35 °C (typically reaching –35 °C in about 4 hours)

  • Specimen cooling: Independently adjustable between –10 °C to –50 °C in 1 K increments 

  • Quick-freeze shelf: Active cooling as low as –45 °C for rapid freezing of multiple specimen discs 

  • Defrosting: Offers a 9-minute manual defrost and one programmable automatic defrost per 24 hours
